Coming Of Age

Have you ever thought that you were too old or you underestimated someone because of their age? Over the weekend at the Olympic trials a swimmer named Dana Torres made the Olympic Swimming team at the age of 41. Swimming is supposed to be a young athlete’s sport.

 

I was playing basketball on Saturday and I was the oldest player on my team. Some of the players are twenty years younger then me. We won our first game and the team that had next was full of players that were my age or older.  The high school and college guys I was playing with took it for granted that they would dominate the old cagy veterans.

 

My team lost and I realized that you can’t give up on your dreams no matter what father time has to say.  It’s not the biological clock that you should worry about, it’s your psychological clock. The next time you use reverse psychology don’t say “Mind over matter, say “What’s the matter with your mind.”
