DERRICK Interview with Inspirational Jewel Dr. Virginia LeBlanc

October 15, 2018

Encouragement Speaker Derrick Hayes gives a DERRICK Interview by asking 7 questions through each letter of his first name to give you an insightful perspective from other experts, entrepreneurs, celebrities and up and coming super stars.

Today’s DERRICK Interview is with Dr. Virginia LeBlanc who is a Speaker, singer, coach, consultant, educator and is the bestselling author of Love the Skin YOU’RE In: How to Conquer Life through Divergent Thinking. A highly sought-after expert with a breadth of experience across industries, she employs knowledge and know-how through her company Defining Paths to transform client circumstances from the inside out.

D is for Dream. What is your dream and what have you achieved?

My dreams are ever changing as I check off the list and have a revelation in my purpose. Perhaps the biggest “dreams” I have achieved to date are:

1) living and loving from the inside out;

2) becoming a published author; and

3) becoming a leader, influencer, and transformer of lives and entities for the better.

E is for Encourage. What encourages you?

My faith, the abundant availability of grace, and the power of love encourage me. Also, knowing that I can and do make a difference on a daily basis gives me encouragement.

R is for Resource. What resources do you bring to the table that makes you unique or stand out?

I am a multi-disciplined subject matter expert who has mastered the art of convergence in know-how transference across diverse industries through divergent thinking.

R is for Ready? When did you realize you were ready for what you are doing now?

Are we ever truly ready? As we move in our purpose, we become ready and equipped every day. You will not know until you test the waters. I made the decision to step out in faith when a host of circumstances converged pointing me in that direction, and I could no longer ignore that calling.

I is for Individual. Name at least one person that you know that you feel others should learn about and why?

This answer will always be Jesus. Walking after his example and teachings keep, correct, ground, and sustain me in love, empowerment, and peace that transcends my own understanding. When you understand how to love unconditionally, sacrifice for a greater good, and reach others through servant leadership, your perspective changes, and all of a sudden, life makes sense and is worth living.

C is for Continue. When you fail, things look bleak or are not optimistic what makes you want to continue?

Most importantly, I never fail, only gain lessons learned; it’s a mindset. My faith and the spirit within me mute fear of failure and activates/emboldens the fight in me.

K is for Key. What keys to success can you leave for upcoming entrepreneurs and leaders?

Keys to success for aspiring entrepreneurs and leaders: Tune into YOUR channel; manage YOUR reality; and think divergently. Follow YOUR path to purpose, do what you were meant to do, and always be you. It may take time to figure it out, but you will figure it out, if you keep trying. Stay in the ring and ALWAYS get up from the mat!

Is there anything that we did not touch on that you would like to inspire others with?

A holistic approach to life is a must including the exercising of faith. Let go of fear and jump. You will find the net. It may be a little or a lot lower than you thought but you will find it. If nothing else, and faith scares you, it is the law of attraction.

DERRICK Interview with Best Selling Author Remy Chausse

January 25, 2013

RemmyEncouragement Speaker Derrick Hayes gives a DERRICK Interview by asking 7 questions through each letter of his first name to give you an insightful perspective from other experts, entrepreneurs, celebrities and up and coming super stars.

Today’s DERRICK Interview is with Rémy Chaussé who is an inspirational speaker and author  of the best-selling book “Living Life As An Exclamation Point!” It created such  a revolution that it led to The Get  UNstuck Revolution!™ for extraordinary women with big-ass dreams who are ridiculously unsatisfied  . . . to get past go, get out of status  quo, and create a life they love.  Rémy has been featured on the Business Beware Show on FOX Business, the  On the Edge Show (a CBSaffiliate), Smart Money Talk Radio (an NBC affiliate),  and The Women’s Information Network.

D  is for Dream. What is your dream, goals or what have you  achieved?

My  dream was to be able to help people overcome invalidation. In researching my book, I found the #1 cause of someone being stuck in life is invalidation. What exactly is invalidation? It’s that thing that creeps in and steals your exclamation points! It happens when somebody “takes you down a notch” by branding you illogical or wrong, or tells you that you don’t matter. It also happens when you suffer a spiritual injury. What I discovered is that  people don’t just show up and say, “I feel invalidated today.” What they say is,  “I feel stuck.” So I created The Get  UNstuck Revolution!™ to help people overcome invalidation, recover their  purpose in life, and create the life they’re meant to live.

E  is for Encourage. What encourages you?

What  encourages me is when I witness someone finding hope. Even in the face of the  most troubling challenge, I ask people to find one positive thing about it. And  if you can find one, you can find five. And if you can find five, you can find  ten. If you can find ten positive things, you can find twenty. And you’ll get  unstuck from the challenge before you ever get to twenty, simply by looking for  the positive. Maybe you’ll find the right perspective to find the right  solution, or maybe you’ll discover the actual solution.

R  is for Resource. What resources do you bring to the table that makes you unique  or stand out?

I  suffered a betrayal from my church and my minister (the minister was my husband). It was devastating. I was highly functional, but had a really dark  sadness. I was doing well in life, but there was something still holding me  back. I was shattered inside, and trapped in a life I didn’t recognize. Even  through that quiet desperation, I was eventually able to climb out, and I began  that journey by interviewing experts for my book. They were so inspirational  that I started recording the interviews on Skype, and some of these profound  interviews are still on my blog to this day.

R  is for Ready. When did you realize you were ready for what you are doing now?

After  my book hit the best seller list, my energy must have shifted in a major way,  because strangers would walk up to me at coffee shops and strike up a  conversation about spiritual injury. Just  out of the blue! It was amazing, and I soon realized that I was a lightning  rod for this controversy, and there was a deep need for starting the  conversation about overcoming invalidation. When someone invalidates you, it can  fracture your soul into a million little pieces. But who can you talk to? How do  you connect with your spirituality again once you’ve been shattered? What do you  do when you’ ve become unraveled by someone or something you’ve trusted?

I  is for Individual. Name at least one person that you know that you feel others  should learn about and why?

Tracy  Broughton has survived everything from a carjacking to being homeless, to two  car crashes that each left her paralyzed and she was told she’d never walk again (but did!). She has achieved some amazing things in her life, including fitness  awards and even the Ms. America 2011 title.

C  is for Continue. When you fail, things look bleak or are not optimistic what  makes you want to continue?

We  all have at least one true passion in life … more than that, we have a purpose  for being here.  But most people don’t know what their purpose is. You aren’t on this earth to  struggle, or even just survive. You were given one unique strength, and that  uniqueness IS your purpose. When you fail, it’ s simply something bigger trying  to be born … so ask bigger.

K  is for Key. What keys to success can you leave for upcoming entrepreneurs and  leaders?

Isn’t  it funny how so many people want us to focus on our limiting beliefs to try and solve life’s  problems? Finding out who you are and  what you stand for is my biggest  success strategy. Start with the question, “What do I believe in?” Make a list  of 10 things you believe in, and you might be surprised at the positive beliefs you have, that can help  you solve any challenge.
