LGBT Events

March 25, 2020

LBGT Events in Columbus, Georgia are brought to you and presented by Columbus Colgay Pride and Diversity Saturday and Derrick Hayes the “enTIEtainer” was invited out to perform and share his LGBT motivational message with L for Lesson instead of Lesbian, G for Gift instead of Gay, B for Belief instead of Bisexual and T for Transformation instead of Transgender.

Thank you! That was so amazing!!! I’m going to start sharing your information today! That was an awesome motivational message that touched me so deeply! Then for you to even take the time to make that beautiful message for me… I was just speechless. Which doesn’t happen often! I love what you do!!!  It was so inspiring. I was feeling a little down and you changed my entire day! Which in turn changed other people’s day… like a ripple effect. ️Perfect example of what spreading positivity and love can and will do!

February 17, 2016

SalgadoTeamBrought to you by Encouragement Speaker Derrick Hayes

If you ever get to meet Richard “Big Daddy” Salgado and walk with him next to his shoes for the day it is quite an event in itself. It could even make you say if he ever meets the woman of his dreams that she would be on top of the world. When Fay came into Richards life they began to build their own dream team with relationship chemistry.

In this Exclusive interview Team SALGADO sat down with me to share insight from inside the mind of Sports and Entertainments two of a kind and through their name SALGADO, Richard and Fay share their life as new husband and wife.

The S is for Special: What is it about your spouse that is oh so special?

(F) He never leaves my side.

(R) She’s as smart as she is as beautiful.

The A is for Athlete: What Athlete does your spouse most remind you of and why?

(F) WILLIAM PERRY aka The Fridge .. A BEAST Unstoppable.

(R) Peyton Manning because she’s a take charge quarter back of our home.

The L is for Lesson: What has your spouse taught you about yourself that no one else had the courage to tell you?

(F) To be conservative. Sometimes I have too much passion and can’t keep a balance.

(R) She taught me the importance of family and unconditional love.

The G is for Gift: What gift did your spouse give you that did not cost anything but means everything to you?

(F) His life, he made me his equal partner .

(R) Marrying me, she gave me the biggest gift I ever had that day .

The A is for Away: When your spouse is away what is it about them that makes you want to smile?

(F) His laugh and when he comes flying in the bed like super man .

(R) When she says I want to come home

The D is for Direction: How does your spouse keep you on the right track?

(F) He ignores me when I babble.

(R) Ohhhh she does don’t worry. Ha. She never holds back, she’s always on top of everything, which I need sometimes. As they say behind every good man is a good women. Well that’s my wife.

The O is for Others: Why is it important to be in a relationship with someone that want to help give back to others?

(F) Because it stems from a child watching my own mother suffer cancer and being a single mom. I know the feeling of what a family struggles through to beat cancer.

(R) Because we want us both to have the same believes and morals .

DELAYED But Not Denied

May 19, 2012

by Encouragement Speaker Derrick Hayes

In my journey I have been DELAYED where my course was Detoured and I became Easily influenced. This put me at a Loss and I became Absent and then just Yawned all together. The Echo of trouble kept repeating in my life and soon caused Damage. Even with all that happening I was DELAYED But Not Denied.

Detour. Growing up I wanted to be a pro athlete or Hip Hop star. Year after year I would play various sports including basketball, football, track and field and bowling thinking this was the answer to my destiny. Rap helped me develop writing skills and I kept working on new ideas all of the time. Writing skills were different then study skills as I started to fall behind.

Easily. I didn’t even see it coming. Girls started to like me and if you had a girlfriend back then you were the man. More time was going into trying to meet Miss right than my academics and even my athletics started to suffer. There was no he said she said it was all about what she said.

Loss. When my grades and athletic ability started to decline I was not just at a loss for words I started to lose confidence. I was great with the girls but where it counted most I was replaced as a starter on the field. When you lose at one thing a feeling comes that you will lose at another.

Absent. By the time I graduated from High School I felt like my life was empty. I had played sports since I was 5 years old and had no scholarships offers to show for it. My confidence was gone and I hadn’t even taken the ACT Test so I could get into college.  I graduated from High School but the thing that was absent was my purpose.

Yawn. When you lose track of your goals and have no purpose you become bored. When you are not excited about too many things you will do whatever it takes to have fun. The hard lesson I learned was that in order to have fun in life you have to make life fun.

Echo. When you have no direction you will follow what everyone else is doing. I became an alcoholic at an early age. I mastered how to lie to my parents and stay out all night. I never knew the things I did as a child I would see done exactly the way I did them by my own children.

Damage. Sitting on the porch of my mother’s house I realized that I was damaged goods. I had to look in the mirror and hear the truth. I made it through High School but had not even applied to any colleges. My ACT score came back and I failed the test. Due to my health I had already ruled out a military career.

Just like many of you I was DELAYED But Not Denied. If you are on Detour turn around and get back on track. If you are Easily influenced buckle down and be the one that starts to inspire others. If you are tired of Losing, start winning. If you have been Absent show up and give quality time. If you don’t want to Yawn get up and make it happen at the break of dawn. Nothing is wrong with an Echo just find positive things to repeat. Guess what? The word is Damage and not done. Damage means you have been hit but not too hurt to holler back. When you are done it means that it’s over for you Rover.

I was DELAYED but that’s when my mother prayed

My son is DELAYED but don’t let him be denied

Let him do right and hear words from the wise

Inspire him to create what others want to buy

Bless him when he tries so his dreams are multiplied

Through the prayers of my mother and with the help of my Brother David I was able to pass the ACT and enroll in Tennessee State University and receive a B.A. in Business Administration.

I was DELAYED But Not Denied.

One L Of A Day

October 6, 2011

I was at work thinking of how good of a day it will be when I get off. I had know idea that it would be even better than I imagined. It reminds me of the classic Today Was A Good by Ice Cube. With benefits being cut short for those who have jobs and times getting even tougher for the ones who have no employment I refuse to talk about the hell we are going through. I’m here to lift your spirits well with stories I’m blessed to tell and their all through the letter L.

Leave. Will I get to go home? At work enough people have to come in order for you to get relieved from duty. I did my eight and now I get to skate. It feels good when everyone comes to work like they should. No overtime and we get off work on time.  The first blessing in this day is to clock out and head home.

Love.  In Corinthians it says faith, hope and love and the greatest of these is love. At work I had faith and hope that I would get to come home to my family whom I love. The scriptures say that love never fail. Every time I’m in the arms of the helpmate there are no words that can describe our vibe.  The second blessing I received is that I get to love the one I’m with.

Linger. I fall asleep and wake up by myself. My wife is off to work. A great feeling is knowing someone was there with you and that at the end of the day they are coming back. You never forget real moments as they stay in your mind forever. The third blessing I  witnessed is the feeling of love in the spirit.

Look. I know my hair is a mess but the barber has the skills to make my style manifest. I want to look fab to match my gift for gab. In the car I hop for my trip to the barbershop. After 30 minutes later I have the fade that will wake up the haters. The fourth blessing is I get a chance to look my best.

Lesson. Education is about giving and receiving. I was teaching others about how to build their personal brand on the internet. Through them  I was learning how to be a better teacher.  It’s never about me and that’s why I always share to help someone bring their dream to life.  The fifth blessing of my day is to teach those within your reach.

Lady. My daughter comes home from school and speaks. I have been working with her lately on how to put yourself in position to win.  I think she is getting it sometimes. I won’t assume but victories do come in small packages. I hope one day she becomes half the lady that her mother is. The sixth blessing is that you have to show up to help them grow up.

Later. It’s only 4:37 PM on Thursday October 6th, 2011 and I’m already thinking about the future. I can’t wait for my wife to come back home so we can meet and greet at the door and plant a kiss and talk about how all the  time that’s been missed. the candy is call Now and Later. Think about how you want your life now so that your dreams can manifest for you later. The seventh blessing is to be able to plan.

I hope you have One L Of A Day where nothing negative comes your way where the things that matter want to hang and stay where the fun comes back and gives your life play. If this is not you or your life close your eyes and say “God soon and very soon please touch my life with One L Of A Day.”
