Embrace Optimism in Every Area of Your Life

July 9, 2013

EmbraceOptimismAnnabelle Smyth

Life sure has a way of knocking you off your feet sometimes. With hectic work schedules, issues at home and a down economy, it can be difficult to look on the bright side. While it may seem easier to drag yourself through life looking at the glass half empty, there are ways to improve your outlook on any situation and find the silver lining in any cloud.

Take It Easy.
It’s important not to overwhelm yourself with life and everything that comes with it. In theory, you only have today. Tomorrow has its own set of issues so worry about them when they get here. For now, break down what seems to be an unconquerable mountain of worries into smaller battles. The stress may still be there, but you’ll have a different perspective and an easier time getting through it positively.

Trim the Fat.
Misery really does love company. One of the best things you can do to improve your personal outlook on life is to rid your surroundings of the negative people and things that bring you down. Do an evaluation of each person or circumstance around you and ask yourself, “Does this person add value to my life or take from it? Am I happy around her, or does she ruin my day?” If it’s the latter, consider cutting back your exposure or detaching completely.

Get Healthy.
It seems obvious, but eating right and exercising can have profound benefits to your state of well being. A healthy diet improves brain function, increasing productivity in every area in your life. This in turn gives you a personal satisfaction and feeling of accomplishment, which will have you feeling more upbeat and energetic in general. Not to mention getting all your fruits and vegetables with help you live longer to enjoy all the things that matter to you.

Have Faith.
In something, anything. Be it God, yourself, or the goodness of humanity, having something to believe in will strengthen and encourage you to keep pushing forward one day at a time.

You really CAN have a happier self, but it’s a choice you have to make. A life coach in Houston can offer you even more tips and suggestions on how to live more positively and embrace optimism regardless of the situation. With someone else on your team you can be on your way to a more fulfilling life in no time.

DERRICK Interview with Yoga Expert Acharya Sri Khadi Madama

February 25, 2013

AcharyaYogaEncouragement Speaker Derrick Hayes gives a DERRICK Interview by asking 7 questions through each letter of his first name to give you an insightful perspective from other experts, entrepreneurs, celebrities and up and coming super stars.

Today’s DERRICK Interview is with Acharya Sri Khadi Madama who is a veteran speaker, workshop leader and special retreat host of 40 years.  Visionary, celebrity and author, she has a lot to share on a variety of subjects.  She is among the prestigious speakers listed with MPI (Meeting Planners International) and has bridged several speaking genres from motivational, spiritual, wellness, stress management and, of course, on the subject of Yoga.

Because of her versatility as a speaker, she has spoken to Realtors, health care professionals, at beauty trade shows, expos, museums, radio, college campuses, corporations and TV.

D  is for Dream. What is your dream and what have you  achieved?

My dream is to be able to start a non-profit organization in order to create a safe community for homeless women and children living in India by  creating a “pod project” of small bungalows created out of modified storage pods  that are self sufficient ie, solar panel to heat water, rooftop gardens. They  would be in safe gated communities with a large common house in the center for a  community kitchen and baths. The pods, although tiny would provide shelter. The  common house would also offer classes in reading, writing, and other Artisan crafts to help make the women independent.

In 2009, I received the Hind Rattan (Jewel of India Award) from the NRI Welfare Society, an esteemed organization that works very closely with the Indian Government. As far as I know, I am the only non-Indian origin person to  have received this award, which is usually reserved for NRI’s (Non Resident Indians) living abroad who help to sustain Indian culture around the globe. It  has been my dream to use my award status to gain visibility and credibility to  start the pod project.

E  is for Encourage. What encourages you?

This is a very difficult question because there is not one answer. I just seem to have this continuous flow of imagination that doesn’t seem to have a  limit. I am a prolific writer in several genres and a lot of creative energy. I  also have a passion for trying to make the world a better place. I’m blessed  with not needing others to encourage me. I’m usually the one encouraging them.

R  is for Resource. What resources do you bring to the table that makes you  unique or stand out?

My imagination; accountability; follow throw; positive attitude; good time management and I know how to take care of myself as well as know when it’s time  to rest until my battery is recharged. I’m also good at saying no, when it needs  to be said.

R  is for Ready. When did you realize you were ready for what you are doing  now?

Ideas incubate pretty quickly for me. As a writer, once I get an idea, I just start to write. I never have writer’s block and I never run out of ideas or  concepts. As for the pod project, it has been a very long running idea that I am  still not sure of how to bring to fruition, but having friends now retiring to  India, where I’ll be able to spend time, will make it a lot easier.

I  is for Individual. Name at least one person that you know that you feel others should learn about and why?

James Redfield. Author of the Celestine Prophecy. James is a true visionary of our times. He runs the Global Prayer Project for twice monthly  prayer/visualization and they are wonderful. Although I am a bit of a visionary myself, I rely on others to illuminate my own path.

Sarah Ban Breathnach. Author of Simple Abundance; Peace and Plenty; Something More, Moving On and more. Sarah is another visionary but probably doesn’t realize just how much of one she is.

The above two authors are my faves. I will read anything they write over and over again.

Chellie Campbell.  Author and financial stress relief visionary of The Wealthy Spirit. Her inspirational message is a salve for the challenging shifts  in the economy. Chellie is fabulous and friendly. This New York Best Seller List  author answers her own phone!!! She is truly inspiring.

C  is for Continue. When you fail, things look bleak or are not optimistic what  makes you want to continue?

I am an avid martial artist with 4 black belts, in 4 halls of fame and an author on the subject as well. as a warrior, I do not ever back down. when I  feel like I’ve gone 5 rounds with Tyson, I let myself crawl into bed with some  camomile tea and honey, darken the room, light a candle; maybe do a crossword  puzzle to reset my brain, let myself doze off and when I awaken, I’m ready to  get back up and start over again until I find the right solution. I also ask for  Divine Guidance.

K  is for Key. What keys to success can you leave for upcoming entrepreneurs and  leaders?

Be VERY organized. Even the little things count. When the day doesn’t go right–you can’t get a hold of anyone, the mail is slow, no one is returning  phone calls—organize your desk, your files, your to do list. Pay attention to  small details. Freshen your office. This shifts the energy. Do some  affirmations, take a walk in the garden. do martial arts, yoga. Do something completely opposite to create an energetic pendulum effect. Call someone up and  ask what you can do for them? Remember: Tomorrow is another day; Look at things  differently and find another way.

DERRICK Interview with Jasper Cain

December 20, 2012

JasperCain2Encouragement Speaker Derrick Hayes gives a DERRICK Interview by asking 7 questions through each letter of his first name to give you an insightful perspective from other experts, entrepreneurs, celebrities and up and coming super stars.

Today’s DERRICK Interview is with Jasper Cain of PURE SPEED, LLC,. Under the watchful eye of its visionary Jasper L. Cain Jr. He is the President and CEO. He has 18 years of experience in playing and training. He attended Clark Atlanta University where he received his bachelor and master degrees. He has trained several players such as Stevie Baggs #55 OLB Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Michael Johnson Cincinatti Bengals LB #93, and Kregg Lumpkin Green Bay Packers RB #22. He specializes in speed and strength training propelling the athlete to elite status. Jasper has been able to shave off .2 to .9 seconds or more on an individuals 40-yard time with various training techniques.

D is for Dream. What is your dream, goals or what have you achieved?

My dream is that I’m living it and about to live it. I’m about to become an inventor with a stop watch coming out in 2013 and also I’m about to build one of the largest sports and entertainment facilities in the state of Georgia. I’m a model and actor and will be authoring two books with one coming out next year. I’m actually in the mist of living the dream and walking in the dream wide awake.

E is for Encourage. What encourages you?

Daily I get inspiration from life itself by living in the now and in the moment. Everything from life inspires me and God gives us nuggets each day to bring us closer to him and being closer to him with you doing his will. His thoughts and his way are higher than our ways and there is a saying that there are 3 ways that God answers your prayers.  1. Answer it right away 2. No and give you something better 3. Wait and give you the best. In the trials and tribulations of waiting patience is a virtue so if you just wait it out God will give you the best of what God can give you.

R is for Resources. What resources do you bring to the table that makes you unique or stand out?

You want to be someone that is irreplaceable. Just like someone in sports LeBron James and Michael Jordan that you consider the best ever to play. The reason they are the best is because they make everyone else around them better. The greatest leader is the greatest servant and that is the difference in people that are successful in that they make touch lives and make everyone around them better. When you can make someone better they will want you around more. The best resource is you trying to be the best that you can. In order for your dreams to come true you have to make others dreams come true.

R is for Ready. When did you realize you were ready for what you are doing now?

You have to stay ready by planning and preparation is the key in all things. When you are ready for a thing God will make it appear so it’s not when you’re ready it’s when God is ready. The thing is you have to continue to keep you’re A game every day and stay on top of your game. Master your craft because you never know when that time will come when you have to seize the moment. It’s all about staying ready, being ready and being prepared and ready for that moment. Just like when you are about to talk to a millionaire someone who has the opportunity to change your whole life. They ask “how much debt do you have?” You need to be able to tell them exactly how much it is because they can give it to you right on the spot, but if you are not prepared and ready to answer it you just missed your moment, and you just missed your time of becoming debt free.

I is for Individual. Name at least one person that you know that you feel others should learn about and why?

King David and how he succeeded and was a man was after God’s own heart. Know the laws of success and study to be the best you can be.

C is for Continue. When you fail, things look bleak or are not optimistic what makes you want to continue?

Faith. You have to keep faith to please God. The greater the struggle, the greater the blessing. You either take big risk for big reward or small risk for small reward. It’s all about making the right choice and believing in you. If you don’t believe in you and think you can’t make it then you have already lost. Believe, stay strong and call out to the universe by speaking positive and staying positive. Faith without works is dead so work towards it and if you know the laws you have seed time and harvest time. Put it out there and do your work and you’ll have to answer to your call and have the chance to make it happen. The opportunity will come.

K is for Keys. What keys to success can you leave for upcoming entrepreneurs and leaders?

1. Always be you and go with your hear where decisions are made 2. Be consistent 3. Be persistent 4. Things could be falling together or falling apart. God has placed everything within you to succeed.  Be wise and hang with wise men. In you want to know where are or going look at the crowd.

Is there anything that we did not touch on that you would like to inspire others with?

Go for it. You want to die empty without anything left in you.

Visit Jasper Cain for more information.
