Every Wednesday Night in Columbus, GA you can hear Encouragement Speaker Derrick Hayes and Dr.  J. A. Hud rocking the airwaves on 1340 AM WOKS which is owned by Davis Broadcasting. Some know Wednesday as Hump Day but Dr. Hud calls it “Derrick Day.”

Dr. J. Aleem Hud is a native of Columbus, GA. He has a B. S. degree with a concentration in Political Behavior, a Master of Social Work degree (M.S.W.) in Family Development and Planning from Wayne State University-Detroit, Michigan and a Doctorate (Ed.D) in Developmental Psychology from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, Michigan. His doctoral publication was on, ‘The Influence of Developmental Studies and Socio- Cultural content on Achievement, Self-Perception, and Socio-Economic Perception.” Additional studies were obtained from the University of Manchester (England), University of West Indies (Jamaica), Haitian Institute (Haiti), Urban Training Center for Christian Ministry (Chicago, Illinois), and Harvard University (Cambridge Mass.).

Dr. Hud holds professional certifications as a Clinical Social Worker and Anger Management and Domestic Violence Consultant. He is one of the contributors in the development of a curriculum designed to prepare youth and family development professionals, in conjunction with the Institute of Human Development and Disabilities (UGA), in the use of assets in facilitating family preservation and family reunification programs. He also has directed the Fatherhood Initiative (access and visitation program) southwest Georgia. Presently Dr. Hud  has       coordinated  the mentoring program for the Columbus Juvenile Drug Court and provided anger management and crisis intervention services. Dr. Hud has developed a family development institute to train foster and adoptive, and at-risk parents in preparing teens for independent living.

Dr. J. Aleem Hud, A.C.S.W. is the founder/CEO of Project Rebound, Inc. (P.R.I.) Human Development Institute, headquartered in Columbus, Ga. Dr. Hud has been recognized nationally for his work with his “Bully Buster” Program. His curriculum Learning, Living, and Loving©, a social and life skills curriculum has been recognized widely for its effectiveness in preparing youth for emancipation from the foster care system and with youth who have been discharged from the juvenile justice system.

Project Rebound, Inc. is a not-for-profit Human Services Agency which provides consultation for community/faith-based organizations and families in distress. Dr. Hud also provides training and supervised visitation services for domestic conflict cases. He brings over 35 years of clinical and intervention experience. He has also been a collegiate professor at several colleges and universities, including Chairman of the Social Work Department at Tuskegee University. Also Project Rebound, Inc has been recognized as Agency of the Year by the Foster and Adoptive Parent Association of Georgia.
