Bow Tie Monday started at Jordan High School in Columbus, GA when Darius Moore asked Derrick Hayes to participate and where a Bow Tie each Monday.

The last thought on Derrick Hayes mind was to wear a tie to work but he also did not want to say no to someone else dream. After wearing a bow tie for a few weeks there was a day when the weather would not permit anyone to go out and get another bow tie so Hayes had to learn how to turn the regular ties that he already had into bow ties so that he could continue to participate in Bow Tie Monday.

Since Derrick Hayes did not kill his dream it ended up living his. Derrick Hayes went from not wanting to wear a tie to sharing and teaching others how to tie regular ties and also how to turn them into bow ties and the impact and feedback from men, women and children was incredible.

Now Derrick Hayes has branded himself as the “enTIEtainer” since he has added new tie tying techniques to his seminars, workshops, routines and Stand Up Encouragement sessions. The “enTIEtainer” is available to perform and uplift audiences at schools, colleges, corporations, meetings, events, concerts, festivals, clubs, casinos, churches, carnivals and other venues.

No More Devil

October 24, 2008
Did you know that the Tampa Bay Rays made it to the World Series? Last year they were called the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Team officials were tired of losing and wanted a new start so they decided to take the word Devil off of their team name. Last year they were in last place. Tamp Bay had never won more than 70 games in a season out of 162. They got rid of the Devil and have gone all the way to the World Series. What are your thoughts?

Politics Is Everything

October 24, 2008

Over thirty years ago I would wake up each morning and hear a song that my brother wrote and recorded called “Politics Is Everything.” I never knew that in 2008 it would take 30 years for his musical prophecy to come true. The race for the presidency between Barack Obama and John McCaign is one for the ages. I voted early so I wont have to stand in the long lines. Each day we are consumed with he said and she said with the mindset that we have to filter our conscience and make a politically correct vote for the President.  I can honestly say that some things in this election I understand and some things I don’t. One thing is for sure and that is my vote will count. Have you voted yet?

“Before you leave work or go to sleep at night, give someone a W.O.E, a Word Of Encouragement”

As with any New Year, resolutions are being made across the globe for 2008. More often than not, countless individuals vow for a change. Be it spiritually, financially or mentally, goals cannot be accomplished without the encouragement to take the necessary steps. With a guiding hand and powerful words, encouragement speaker Derrick Hayes is here to help.

From the work place to the church pews, people need encouragement to propel them to the God-given success they already possess. While it’s inside already, sometimes an extra push is needed. Bro Hayes strives to provide that.

He has the unique, effective talent of composing Derricknyms from countless letters. His critically acclaimed first book by the same name (first print 2000) has been utilized in corporate, religious and scholastic settings. One of the most frequently used Derricknym is W.O.E. Derricknyms can be ordered by going to www.Derricknyms.com.

He always tells people to make sure they give others a W.O.E. daily. Hayes says, “In the general context, a woe is a problem.” In the Derricknym fashion, it is a Word of Encouragement.

Hayes is a highly sought-after speaker nationwide. He has been featured as the keynote speaker at several events sponsored by such entities as the U.S. Department of Commerce, Auburn University (Ala.), Montgomery Chamber of Commerce, Tennessee State University, Bowie State University, Georgia Power and others.

Give a WOE, a Word Of Encouragement

October 7, 2008

When I was down and out a few years ago I looked up woe in the dictionary. Woe meant sorrrow, disaster, trouble and evil. A woe to you might be a job loss and to someone else it might the loss of a loved one. I had lost my first marriage and time with my kids. What lifted my spirits was when God showed me that woe had a new light to it.

Woe no longer means trial or tribulation but it now means triumph and testimony. WOE means Word Of Encouragement. I tell people everywhere I go that “Before you leave work or go to sleep at night, give someone a WOE, a Word Of Encouragement.”

Derrick Hayes is the creator of Derricknyms www.Derricknyms.com, author of Grow The F Up www.GrowTheFUp.com, and Publisher of The WORD www.MondaysWORD.com. Please watch his video demo at www.EncouragementThinking.com and  book him to speak at (866) WOE-7879.
